Dear Claude:
Your request of the War Department
regarding the situation in China has
been turned over to me with the answers.
The first time you are down this way I
will discuss the whole problem with you.
Sone of the things are extrenely con-
fidential at the present time and if
made public would hamper General Marshall
in his efforts to get harmony in the
Chinese Government. However, if you will
