The Department of State acknowledges the receipt
of the note no. 433 of August 6, 1951, from the Embassy
of the French Republic enclosing the letter to the Presi-
dent from the Ambassador and the book concerning the
recent visit of the President of the French Republic to
the United States and Canada.
The Ambassador's letter and the book have been for-
warded to the White House and the President has asked
that his appreciation be conveyed to President Auriol for
his thoughtfulness in sending him the specially auto-
graphed copy.
The Ambassador's courtesy in this matter is appreciated.
