we had a thorough exchenge of views on the problen of developing
our common defensive strength and on the difficulties involved
in associating the Gorman Federal Republic with such a developaeut.
Sinse then, these questions have been explored in an even more
detailed manner by various representatives of the North Atlantie
oquntries. Whatever differences may have existed on Biming or
nethod, I know that our sense of the urgenoy os the situstion
and the broad objectives whioh we have in mind are identioal.
