of our policy, persistently and resourcefully pursued,
would strengthen immensely the moderate parties around
the center. That would ensure the return of political
stability in Greece, which in turn would hasten the
economic recovery of the country. Such implementation
of our policy is essential, if we are effectively to
counteract the full-time effort of those whose policies
are served by the continuation of the present chaotic
conditions, both economic and political.
I have faith, Mr. McCormack, tha t with our help, democracy
will overcome her enemies and establish mastery in the
home of her birth.
