PROJECTS UNDER CONSIDERATION BY THE NSC CONSULTANTS\nTHE POSITION OF THE US WITH RESPECT TO IRAN\nStudy initiated by the NSC Staff on Dec. 2, 1947. First draft\nissued Feb. 11, 1948. After various revisions, draft presented\nto Consultants April 23. Concurred in by Navy, April 26; by Army\nand Air, May 3. State action being deferred, pending related\ndevelopments.\nTHE POSITION OF THE US WITH RESPECT TO TURKEY\nStudy initiated by the NSC Staff Feb. 10, 1948. First draft issued\nApril 5, 1948. After various revisions, draft presented to Con-\nsultants April 27. Concurred in by Navy, April 28; by Army, May 7;\nby Air, May 12. State action being deferred, pending related\ndevelopments.\nTHE POSITION OF THE US WITH RESPECT TO SCANDINAVIA\nStudy initiated by the NSC Staff on April 21, revised on May 14,\nsent to Consultants on May 18. Concurred in by Navy, May 21; by\nAir, June 21; by NSRB, July 12. Army changes submitted June 1 and\nState changes submitted July 19 are being coordinated for further\nconsideration by Navy, Air and NSRB Consultants.\nSANACC 398/4\nAt its 12th Meeting, June 3, the NSC referred to the Staff this\nsubject to prepare comments and recommendations thereon for con-\nsideration by the Council. The Staff interviewed two technical\nconsultants on this subject and prepared comments and recommenda-\ntions which were presented to the Consultants on July 21. Con-\ncurred in by Navy and NSRB, July 23; changes submitted by State,\nJuly 28. Awaiting action by Army and Air.\nUS POLICY TOWARD JAPAN\n(NSC 13)\nStudy of this subject submitted by the Department of State for the\ninformation of the Council, distributed as NSC 13, June 2, 1948.\nOn the basis of this study and a report by the Army on \"Limited\nMilitary Armament for Japan\" the Staff prepared a report for con-\nsideration by the Council and submitted it to the Consultants, July\n23, 1948. Concurred in by NSRB, July 30; changes submitted by Navy,\nJuly 30. Awaiting action by State, Army and Air.
