OTHER CURRENT PROJECTS\nCIA SURVEY\nAt its 5th Meeting, Jan. 13, 1948, the NSC approved a resolution\nauthorizing a survey of the organization, activities and personnel\nof CIA and nominated for consideration by the President, three\nindividuals to conduct the survey. These three Consultants were\nappointed Feb. 13, 1948. By Mar. 12, 1948, Secretaries of State,\nfor\n25X1\n25X1\nArmy, Navy and Air Force had concurred in terma or nofanance\nthe survey group. Interim Report No. 1 -\n- received May 4, 1948. Written\ncomments on this report by Department of State and by CIA indicated\ngeneral concurrence with the Survey Group's recommendations. It\nwas therefore suggested that the Director of Central Intelligence\nconfer with State with a view to settlement of this question by\nmutual agreement, prior to any Council action. Results of confer-\nence reported in memorandum from the Director of Central Intelli-\ngence on August 3. Interim Report No. 1, and correspondence re-\nlating thereto, was presented to be noted by the NSC on August 9.\nNSC STATUS OF PROJECTS\nTOP SECRET\n- 8 -\nNo Objection to Declassification in Part 2012/02/21 : NLT-PSF-41-7-1-0"
