SUGGESTED LETTER
Your Majesty:
I was very pleased to receive your letter of
November 15 which you transmitted to me through
Ambassador Henderson. I am likewise requesting the
Ambassador to deliver this reply to you.
It was most gratifying to read of your high
opinion of our Point Four activities in Iran. I
agree wholeheartedly with your statement that aid of
this type is necessary for the progress and prosperity
of nations of the world.
During my term of office as President of the
United States, I have always been particularly con-
scious of the needs of these countries, including Iran.
It was with this in mind, of course, that the Point
Four program was initiated, and I have every hope that
the incoming administration will continue this type of
aid to deserving nations such as yours.
In closing, may I say that I shall always recall
with pleasure the fact that I was able to become per-
sonally acquainted with you during your visit to the
United States in 1949.
Sincerely yours,
RECORDS SERVICE A
is
His Imperial Majesty
SSYP
Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi,
Shahinshah of Iran.
