DECLASSIFIED ED Authority E.O. 10501 DEPARTMENT OF STATE WASHINGTON July 26, 1951 MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT Subject: Message from Prime Minister Mosadeq The following telegram was received July 20, 1951 from the Honorable W. Averell Harriman regarding the assistance extended by this government in a continuing program for the control of malaria in Iran, particularly in the strategic northern provinces: "During course of my call on Prime Minister Mosadeq July 19, he mentioned the DDT program being implemented under Point IV. Mosadeq asked me to convey to the President the gratitude of the Iranian people for this assistance, since the program could only be carried out with American help."
