At mtg this morning with British and Iran delegations I
made a frank and vigorous statement re Iran reply reported
my telegram earlier today, and stated that if Iran reply was
published I would have to gimultaneously release to press
the substance of my statement. As a result Iran Govt is
considerating withholding publication for the time being
pending further discussions. Stokes has telegraphed London
to withhold publication by British until further advice.
