The Security Council has made two resolutions. That of
June 25, after having made an appeal for the discontinu-
of hostilities, directs the authorities of North
Korea ance to withdraw their armed forces beyond the 38th
parallel and invites all members of the United Nations
to furnish all necessary help to this organization for
the impementation of this resolution. That of June 27
states that the authorities of North Korea have not
ceased the hostilities nor withdrawn their forces on
measures are requested to restore peace and international
the 38th parallel, and deems that urgent military
security Noting the appeal of the Korean Republic to
the United Nations, the Recurity Council recommends
that member states JIS.O* such assistance which may be
necessary to repel the aimed attack and restore peace
and international security in that area. These
resolutions of the Security Council have been made in
implementation of the United Nations charter. This
charter has been ratified by Belgium. Our country
intends to fulfil all engagements to which it has
pledged itself.
