Official communique issued this morning's press gives
OLI
publicity to Peru's expression of its most complete
CIA
solidarity as regards Far East developments. Though three
IE
leading papers continue give prominent play to wire ser-
PA
vice reports on Korean affair, press comment is abating
DCR
as public attention becomes increasingly focussed on
national elections scheduled for Sunday In its column
of international comment, today LA PRENSA emphasizes approval
of US stand. Meanwhile, LA NOCHE, which follows line of
orthodox Communist Party in commenting on international
matters, prints its first, brief report on Korean develop-
ment, guarded and superficially factual but unmistakably
pro-Russian in slant. Prominent mention given to British
Parliamentarian° proposal to use atomic bomb, and to the
'sacrifice of Chiang Kai-shek, 11 who has been converted
into the governor of the state of Formosa".
