Dear Elmer:
I certainly appreciated your good letter
of October and I read with
mach interest your letter to the Secretary
of State, enclosing one which you had
written to the Secretary of Var. They are
very interesting documents and I an glad
to have then.
I was particularly interested in the manner
in which you paid your respects to a few of
our demagogues.
