    "ocrText": "DESLASSIFIED\nSECRET\nE.O. 11652, Sec. 3(E) and 5(D) OF OD\nDept. of State letter, Aug. 10, 1972\nDesta 2-1-25\nRegent's Party\nThe Regent will be accompanied by Nuri Pasha As-Said,\nmany times Prime Minister of Iraq; Lieutenant Colonel Ubayd\nAbdullah, the Regent's aide-de-camp; Daud Pasha Al-Haidari,\nan Iraqi older statesman who has held many political and\ndiplomatic posts; Dr. Harry Sinderson Pasha, the Regent's\nEnglish physician; and three subordinate aides. Nuri Pasha\nwill be the only one to stay at the White House with the\nRegent.\nNuri Pasha. Nuri is the leading statesman in Iraq\nand is the most prominent remaining member of the group\nof Arab leaders who fought with Lawrence of Arabia during\nthe last war in behalf of Arab independence, with which\ncause Nuri has been associated all his life. For the\npast twenty-five years Nuri has occupied a leading place\nin Iraqi political life and in the movement for Arab\nunion, the growth of which is in large part due to his\nefforts. Being strongly pro-Arab, he is, of course,\nopposed to Zionism and may discuss the Arab views on\nPalestine in detail. Nuri speaks English quite well and\nis dynamic and forceful.\nLieutenant Colonel Ubayd Abdullah.
