their salvation and they appreciated the humane efforts which the
President of the United States is making to help the little man all
over the world, although they personally had not received any direct
tangible benefit. Yes, the United States has done much to put big
business on its feet in Italy; but they meekly admitted that the
little man is still very bad off.
