people of Japan are alert to this dan ger and are ready and willing
to pley their full part in meeting the common menace. For
their part, the Amorican people will continue to work with the
people of Japm to promote peace and security in accordance
with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
To this end, simultaneously with the conning into effect of the
Treaty of Poace, the United States has exchanged ratifications
wi th Japan, and thus also brought into concurrent effect, the
Security Treaty between the United States of America and Japan.
