24 of the United Nations Comd Opns in Kor ea for the period
16 to 30 June inclusive. United Nations Command Communique
nbrs 916-930 inclusive, appended hereto, provide detailed
accounts of these opns.
On the last day of this period the United Nations
Command repeatedly broadcast to the (ommander-in-Chief
of the Communist Forces in Korea a proposal that accredited
representatives of each command meet on the Danish Hospital
Ship Jutlandia off the coast of Wonsan for the purpose
of negotiating a cease fire agreement No reply had been
made to the proposal by midnight of 30 June. The full
text of the radio message follows:
"As Commander in-Chief of the United Nations
Command I have been instructed to communicate to you
the following: I am informed that you may wish a meet-
ing to discuss an armistice providing for the cessation
of hostilities and all acts of armed forces in Korea,
with adequate guarantees for the maintenance of such
armistice.
" Upon the receipt of word from you that such a
meeting is desired, I shall be prepared to name my
representative. I would also at time suggest a date at
which he could meet with your representative I

In mid June counterattacking United Nations
ground forces were meeting increased resistance as
noted in the previous report. As United Nations forces
reached and occupied their main objectives, hostile
forces from organized positions opposed advances with
