Alice Curran, State Dept., just
back from UNESCO conference at Florence,
Italy, and a week-end in Luxamburg, called
to say that on Monday (the 31st) the Paris
(France) Post No. 1 of the American Legion
is going to present to Madam Minister Mesta
the Gold Medal of the American Legion, honoring
her for hospitality to American soldiers in
the European theater. She thought that might
be interesting to both you and the President.
