Dear Mr. President:
I have received your memorandum enclosing a copy
of a report to you, dated May 14, 1947, by Mr. Sgymezak
of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System,
which sets forth his observations and comments on
Military Government in Germany.
This report represents a constructive discussion
of certain important pheses of the situation in Germany
and I am happy to obgerve that in general Mr. Szymezak¹
views seem to coincide with the policy which we are
following. I am making the report available to various
officers of the Department for their consideration.
Mr. Saymezak has already conferred with General Hill-
dring and others in the Department dealing directly
with German matters and his willingness to continue to
assint in our effort to cope with the German problem
is much appreciated.
Faithfully yours,
to ANATIONAL and RECORDS
G. C. MARSHALL
