April 1, 1947.
MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT:
Secretary Acheson just tele-
phoned re message he sent you last
night from General Marshall, No. 1375:
Mr. Acheson sent off interim answer
last night, copy of which has been sent
over to the President this morning. They
also have learned that the telegram from
Marshall which was received last night
was garbled and they are asking for a
repeat but as yet has not come in. Ih
meantime they are working on suggested
answer to 1375.
Furthermore, word has come that
General Marshall wants the President parti-
cularly to see telegram 1374, which has not
come in. Mr. Acheson states he will be
in touch with the President later in regard
to 1374.
