Dear Vivian:
I received your letter and the copies of the telegrams
exchanged between the Department of Agriculture and
Ferd Owen. I have turned the matter over to Matt and
asked him to follow it to its conclusion.
I ordered Trigg to be fired if it was found that he had
been blocking the situation for an ulterior motive, He
swears that he hasn't been doing anything of the kind -
of course, I don't know. We are still looking into it.
I don't want you to get mixed up in this situation in any
way financially because if you do we would never hear
the last of it.
I am enclosing you a letter from Emile Martin to Miss
Conway. If you can find a job for him it would be all
right because he was in the Regiment. I don't think he
is a bad fellow. His mother was a French woman and
he speaks French as well as English very well,
Sincerely,
Harry
