THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
January 19, 1946
MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT.
One of the things that
Bart Crum suggested on his own
behalf and not speaking for the
Palestine Inquiry Committee was
that the Army might be directed
to keep a supply of tents and bedding
in the Palestine area, if there is
such surplus property around.
The idea is that instead of
getting rid of the surplus property
and then having to get other property
to house refugees, the property
might just as well be kept in re-
serve for that purpose in the event
more refugees are to be admitted.
