States would, however, be prepared to give its support to any
concrete proposals calling for the eventual establishment of an
independent state or of independent states in Palestine, pro-
vided such proposals would be in keeping with the basic principles
of the Mandate for Palestine and would have a sufficient degree
of acceptance among those most directly concerned to give good
grounds for the hope that they could be successfully put into
effect.
