Fifteen different drafts were submitted by the Mufti to the
Germans and Italians in the hope of securing a declaration of
Arab independence and a Pan Arabic Federation with himself as the
head.
From Hitler, Ribbentrop and Himmler he received many declar-
ations of sympathy for the Arab cause of which the following are
examples.
