    "ocrText": "- 11 -\nmust return to Bulgaria within six months and furnish proof\nthat they have renounced any foreign nationality which they\nmay have assumed since they emigrated.\nThe JTA of March 6, 1945, reported that \"the Official\nGazette published a Law which provides for the return of\nconfiscated Jewish property and for the annulment of all\nanti-Jewish regulations. Under the new Law compensation\namounting to 30 million levas (approximately $375,000)\nwill be paid for goods which cannot be returned. All land\nexcepting that upon which Bulgarian peasants have settled\nwill be returned to the former Jewish owners. Compensation\non the basis of land prices of two years ago will be paid for\nunreturned land. Rent collected by the Government from con-\nfiscated Jewish houses will be refunded to the owners. Com-\npulsory sales by Jews of stocks and bonds are considered\nvoid. The Bulgarian Government will start refunding the\namounts owed to Jews immediately, provided the total owed an\nindividual does not exceed 50,000 levas, which is approximately\n$625.
