Italy
A Royal Decree was published in Gazetta Ufficiale del
Regno d'Italia, Rome, October 20, 1944, Anno 85°, No. 71,
abrogating all previous anti-Jewish laws pertaining to property
rights. The Decree further stipulates that all Jewish citizens
and those citizens considered to be of the Jewish race1 are to
enjoy fully all property rights. Article 3 of this Decree pro-
vides that "within one year of the conclusion of peace those
who had transferred real property to the ENTE (Office of Prop-
erty Management which, under the anti-Jewish law, took over
Jewish real property, ed.) and the legal representative of such
persons are empowered to demand the return of the transferred
property against the surrender of the certificates or bonds
previously given in repayment by the ENTE.
Article 6. "In cases in which the ENTE may have trans-
ferred real property to third parties the latter are bound
to surrender the property to the former owners or their
