Since Secretary Krug will be absent from Washington until June 19, I shall call the persons listed in his letter of June 5 to you, as well as Admiral Leahy, to see if they will be willing to serve. If they indicate their willingness, I shall then have designations prepared for your signature. Should Justice Roberts be unable to act as chairman, former Secretary of War Stimson, in accordance with your suggestion, will be asked.
