Government-inspired Anti-American Editorials.
The Argentine Government Press Office has sent anti-
American editorials to several minor Buenos Aires
papers. Two appeared yesterday.
Salutary Effect of Statements by Byrnes and
Padilla. Secretary Byrnes' statement that he is
assured of Hull's counsel is expected to have a
salutary effect in Argentina. Padilla's statement
that the American nations are waiting to see how
Argentina complies with the principles of the
Chapultepec Act is also welcomed by Braden.
