only the United States and Canada seek to unleash a new war, but this path is also taken by the 20 Latin American countries, whose landlords and merchants thirst for a new war somewhere in Europe or in Asia in order to sell their merchandise to the belligerent countries at excessive prices and to make millions in this sanguinary business. It is no secret to anyone that the 20 representa- tives of these 20 Latin American countries are now the most cohesive and obedient army of the United States in the United Nations. The United Nations is thus entering on the inglorious path of the League of Nations. Thereby it buries its moral authority and dooms itself to disintegration. Question--Do you consider a new world war inevitable? Answer--No, at least at the present time it cannot be regarded as inevitable. Of course, in the United States and Britain, as well as in France, there are aggressive forces thirsting for a new war. They need war to make super-profits, to rob other countries. They are the multimillionaires and millionaires who consider war a profitable affair, yielding colossal profits. These aggressive forces hold the reactionary governments in their hands and are guiding them, but at the same time they are afraid of their peoples, who do not want a new war and who stand for the preservation of peace. For this reason they are striving to use the reactionary governments to entangle their peoples in lies, to deceive them, and to represent a new war as a war of defense, and the peaceful policy of peace-loving countries as an aggressive policy. They are striving to deceive their peoples with a view to foisting upon them their aggressive plans and to involving them in a new war. It is precisely for this reason that they are afraid of the peace-defense campaign, fearing that it may expose the aggressive intentions of the reactionary governments. It is precisely for this reason that they have turned down the proposals of the USSR for the conclusion of a peace pact, for the reduction of armaments, for the prohibition of atomic weapons, fearing that the acceptance of these pro- posals would undermine the aggressive measures of reactionary governments and render the armaments race useless. What will be the end of this struggle between aggressive and peace-loving forces? Peace will be preserved and consolidated if the peoples take the task
