inevitable if the warmongers succeed in enmeshing the popular masses in
lies, in deceiving them and in involving them in a new world war. For this
reason, a large-scale campaign for the preservation of peace, as a means of
exposing the criminal machinations of the warmongers, is now of prime
importance. As for the USSR, it will continue staunchly to pursue a policy of
averting war and preserving peace.
