MEMORANDUM FOR THE PRESIDENT
Subject: Message from the President of Turkey
During the recent visit to Turkey of Assistant Secretary of
State George C. McGhee, President Ismet Inonu particularly asked
Mr. McGhee to convey to you his very great and continuing
appreciation for the American military and economic assistance
being furnished to Turkey. This is, of course, only the latest
of several occasions on which President Inonu has taken pains to
express thanks for American aid to Turkey.
