He is a forward-looking citizen. He\ndoesn't want to turn the clock back.\nYou have got the same situation here with Congressman\nJohn Upchurch -- send him to the House. Send Paul Douglas to the\nSenate, and go the whole way while you are doing it, and elect\nAldie Stevens to be Governor of this State of Illinois, and you\nwill be on the safe side of progress, instead of in the hands of\npeople who want to turn the clock back.\nI sincerely wish that I could spend the time going\ninto the issues of this campaign in detail, and outline it to\nyou, I think I could convince you that I am telling you what is\nright.\nI am making a crusade cross this country, trying to\nconvince the people that their own interests are at stake when\nthey vote the Democratic ticket in the fall, that it will be a\nvote for yourselves, you won't necessarily have voted for\nany individual or voted for me for President.\nCet up early on election day and go down to the polls\nand get that ticket and make no mistake -- just vote the Democratic\nticket straight, and then you will be on the safe side.\n/\nC\n/"
