SECRET APPENDIX F POST-LIBERATION FOREIGN AID TO GREECE Since liberation, October 1944, Greece has received almost $1.5 billion in foreign aid, as follows: UNRRA $354,000,000 US 546,500,000 UK 528,000,000 Other relief 18,051,000 TOTAL 1,446,551,000 (excluding reparations) With the exception of the $340 million extended Greece by the US in May 1947 under the Truman Doctrine and the European Relief Program, most of the foreign grants have been expended. The $340 million was originally planned to carry Greece through June 1948. Accelerated imports and increased military costs, however, were expected to exhaust AMAG funds by mid-April. Further US aid under ERP and the extended Greek-Turkish Aid Bill (pending Congressional approval) is tentatively scheduled at $200 million for fiscal 1949 military aid, and $55 million economic aid from April through June 1948.
