    "ocrText": "SECRET\nas the 3d Battalion, 35th Infantry; one battalion of the 14th Infantry, retaining\nits present designation will serve as army reserve. Artillery units will be\naugmented as follows: three batteries from the 3d Division Artillery to the\nFirst Cavalry Division; 555th F. A. Battalion to the 24th Infantry Division;\ntwo batteries from the 14th RCT to the 25th Infantry Division. (FECOM) (SECRET)\nSOUTH KOREAN ARMY\nj. Advanced ROK headquarters is at Uisong. The Marine battalion,\npreviously reported at Sunchon, is now in the vicinity of Hamyang. 3d ROK\ndivision continues attack against Yongdok in the face of heavy resistance.\n(FECOM) (SECRET)\nk. I Corps CP is at Andong. The Capitol Division attacked an\nseized a limited objective 1000 yards north of Yechon. The 17th regiment\nhas been directed to move to the vicinity of Masan as EUSAK reserve. The\n8th ROK division withdrew approximate 1000 yards under the heavy attack\nin the area east of Ongchon® (FECOM) (SECRET)\n1. II Corps CP is at Hamchang. The 6th ROK Division attacked\nand seized a hill 4 miles northwest of Hamchang. The 1st ROK division\ncontinued the attack and advanced to a line 7 miles northwest to 10 miles north\nof Hamchang. (FECOM) (SECRET)\nNAVY\nm. Four carrier air strikes on 28 July against enemy transportation\nand installations in southwest Korea resulted in the destruction of railroad\ncars, locomotives, warehouses, factories, powerhouses, 1 large oil tanker and\n1 tank. Half of the town of Nonsan was burned. Enemy troops attempting to\ncross the river near Hamchang were attacked with about 50 killed. Enemy\ntroops in a tunnel were bombed with napalm. (FECOM) (SECRET)\nn. USS TOLEDO (CA) and USS MANSFIELD (DD) patrolled the east\ncoast firing night harassing and illumination missions during night of 27/28\nJuly. Troops in the vicinity of Yongdok were bombarded. TOLEDO and USS\nCOLLETT (DD) fired call fire missions on Yongdok 28 July. The ROK Navy\nmaintained a close blockade of the southwest coast. (FECOM) (SECRET)\nU. S. AIR FORCE\no. USAF claims of 29 July, based on incomplete reports, include:\none tank, 10 trucks, 1 locomotive, 2 railroad cars, 9 vehicles, and 2 bridges\ndestroyed; 8 trucks, 28 box cars, 4 other vehicles, and 3 bridges probably\ndamaged.
