1. Weather:
Scattered to broken clouds at 2500 feet over the entire area. Over-
cast at 500 feet along the east coast increasing to 1000 feet near Wonsan.
Visibility unrestricted except in rain and fog along the east coast. Fore-
cast: Generally unchanged; slight lifting of cloud base levels. (FECOM)

2. Soviet Participation:
a. The North Korean People's Army created in Seoul on 1 July a
Supreme Military Committee with Headquarters in the former U.S. Embassy.
The group consists of 40 Soviet, 20 Chinese, and 50 North Korean personnel.
The exact purposes and functions of the committee are not known. (FECOM)

b. Previous reports have indicated that Antung is a receiving point
for supplies and reinforcements from Manchuria. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. Operations:
ENEMY SITUATION
a. Units in contact from west to east are reported as follows: 4th
North Korean Division is facing the 19th US RCT in the Kwaagju-Hadong
Area; the 6th (?) North Korean Division facing the 34th US RCT and 1st B.n,
29th US Infantry in the Chinan=Muju-Anul Area; 3rd North Korean Division
facing 5th, 7th and 8th RCTs, 1st US Cavalry Division in the Yongdong-
Yongsan Area; 2nd NK Division facing the right flank 1st US Cavalry Division
positions in the Chongsan-Yongsan Sector; 15th NK Division facing the 24th
US RCT and 6th ROK Division in the Yongam-Hwaryongjang area; 1st NK
