Washington, D. C. June 11, 1945 8:00am CORCORAN to TOM CLARK. He informs CLARK that he has discussed the matter CLARK wanted discussed and that (Senator) WHEELER is in Europe but that if he were here, WHEELER would be "for him." CORCORAN said that WHERRY is all "for him" this morning and that CLARK has nothing at all to worry about. CLARK said that was fine and thanks. 8:47am CORCORAN to Mrs. JOHN SNYDER (Phon.). He told her that T. V. SOONG was back from San Francisco and that he was planning to leave for China Friday of this week and before that time he would like to have dinner with the SNYDERS. Mrs. SNYDER said that her husband would not return until perhaps Wednesday or Thursday. CORCORAN said he would keep in touch with her and in the event JOHN returned in time the arrangements would be made. 8:49am CORCORAN to "BILL" saying that he was unable to reach JOHN SNYDER for the Tuesday dinner but that the latter would be back about Wednesday or Thursday. CORCORAN said "I certainly wouldn't miss it with this LEO thing." CORCORAN says a dinner may be arranged for about Thursday. 8:50am MAC, from Culpepper (va.?) to CORCORAN. CORCORAN said he had just wanted to talk to MAC about something which had evaporated over night. CORCORAN wanted to know if MAC had heard any more from CUNNINGHAM and MAC said no, but that he thought CUNNINGHAM would live up to his word. MAC said he hadn't put anything in writing on it. 9:45am JIM at CO 2872 inquired of the secretary for JOSEPH DAVIES' address, either at home or the office. The girl could not locate it. JIM said that ANETTA frequently calls him for TOM CORCORAN. He will contact her again. 9:55am GIRL to JIM at CO 2872 telling him that she had talked with TOM CORCORAN who said that if JIM wants to contact him for T. V. SOONG it would be best to reach DAVIES at the White House. She said that DAVIES lives near the Chinese Embassy at Tregarin. His office is Davies, Richberg etc. She told him that TOM said he saw DAVIES last Saturday afternoon so he believed he was still in Washington. 10:15am CORCORAN to MR. PRETTYMAN at Hughes, Prettyman, and Newell (Phon.). C--Who is GODFREY MUNTER? P--Past President of District Bar Association, a local practitioner. He was past President by accident more or less.
