Washington, D. C. June 11, 1945 11:55am CORCORAN to MAJOR MATT CORREA at Navy Department, Extension 3115. TOM said that he was on his way to New York but would like to have lunch with the Major tomorrow. Agreed. CORCORAN said that "in the meantime PEGGY'S brother, GEORGE FOUKES (Phon.) is having a lot of difficulties of his own and he'd love to be able to talk to you if he could. Would you send for him and let him tell you what his problem is and then help him if you can?" The Major agreed. The Major said he was stuck in New York last night at the field and had to get an illegal priority. 12:01pm MR. POINTER (DIstrict 4148) attempted to contact CORCORAN to confirm a luncheon engagement of today at 1:00 p.m. at the Statler Hotel. He said he would contact him later. 12:10pm ARNOLD KEEN (Phon.) to CORCORAN. The latter asked: "Have you heard anything?" ARNOLD said: "Yes, I have a letter here I want to show you. Can I see you about 3:00 o'clock?" O.K. 12:15pm WORTH CLARK to CORCORAN. They discussed the market for JEEPS and CLARK said he was amazed to learn that the automobile dealers were publicizing them so much when there did not appear to actually be such a post war market. They agreed that probably they are not good as a commercial venture. 12:30pm CORCORAN attempted to contact Senator LISTER HILL but was told he was "on the floor." The Senator will be told that CORCORAN attempted to contact him. 12:45pm CORCORAN to MR. JOHN McCLINTOCK saying that DAVE (CORCORAN) had his plane reservation cancelled and had to grab a train. He wanted to call you and tell you himself that he will be in NY all this week and I will be up there myself. CORCORAN tells him that he can reach DAVE at the Bigelow number, and that DAVE may be down later in the week. JOHN says that he is going up Tuesday night and will give him a ring and make a date. CORCORAN says that DAVE wants to see him (JOHN) and talk to him. 12:50pm TOM CORCORAN to BILL BAILEY (in SENATOR GUFFEY's office). CORCORAN says that he has a letter from FRANK E. McCORMICK (Phon.) Construction Co., Wilkesbarre, Penna. asking him (CORCORAN) to take up something for him (McCORMICK). He asks BILL if McCORMICK is "on our side of the fence or your side of the fence." BILL says he will have to check as he doesn't know. CORCORAN says, "I don't want to get in anything that ain't right." BILL says, "I understand," and that he will let CORCORAN know. 2:45pm Unidentified man to YOUNGMAN. M--You called me this morning?
