Washington, D. C. June 13, 1945 8:20am CORCORAN to TOM CLARK. TC--TOM, HENRY and I got our friend BRIDGES (Senator STYLES BRIDGES of New Hampshire?) into this thing and he re- ported back last night that he was sure the line was tight all the way along. After it's all over, I'd call him if I were you. CLARK--I surely shall. Say, our other man went down a hundred percent. TC--Who? WHERRY? (Senator KENNETH S. WHERRY, Nebraska) CLARK--Yeah, he was swell. TC--Well, that's grand. CLARK--He asked me a lot of--not a lot of questions, but he asked some very helpful ones. TC--That's right, and CLARK--He's a nice looking, not very tall TC--Well, he's a terrific partisan, but he's a damn nice guy. CLARK--I say, he's a good looking fellow, not very tall TC--That's right. CLARK--Well, he's the one, I'm sure. I'd met him but there was quite a number of them there that day and later McCARRAN (Senator PAT McCARRAN, Nevada?) told me that's who it was. TC--Yeah. CLARK--Well, I do thank you and I'll call BRIDGES. TC--What I wanted to make sure was that you call BRIDGES because he really worked. CLARK--Well, I'll call him after it's over with. TC--O.K. CLARK--Thank you, Tom. 8:25am CORCORAN to WIsconsin 1003, McGRANERY residence. Mrs. McGRANERY is in Atlantic City. TOM CORCORAN will call McGRANERY at his office. 8:28am TOM CORCORAN, talking from his home at EMerson 7811, to DAVID CORCORAN in New York City, Orchard 4-1272. DAVID was asked how he came out and he said half good and half bad. He's to see him next week. DAVID said "the man" is coming back for 3 days next week and DAVID will see him then. He will contact TOM CORCORAN later today and advise him of the details. 9:35am WHITEY WILHAUER of F.E.A. to YOUNGMAN. He said that "LEO the Lion" cannot come to the dinner tonight for T. V. SOONG because he has to testify "on the hill" today. BILL said TOM (CORCORAN) talked with "LEO the Lion" (LEO CROWLEY?) last night about the dinner. WHITEY said that LEO's absence would probably suit T. V. SOONG.
