CO SUMMARY Washington, D. C. July 6, 1945 4:35 PM JUDGE ARNOLD's secretary, MARGARET O'BRIEN and MRS. BEHAN discuss the ARNOLD - CORCORAN appointment tomorrow. It was changed from 10 to 11 A.M. in CORCORAN's office. 4:40 PM DAVE CORCORAN to DR. RAJCHMAN (UNRRA). DAVE said, "I want to tell you that VINCENT is in good shape and I think everything is now arranged to your satisfaction, isn't it?" The DOCTOR said he thought it was and thanked DAVE. DAVE said, "He's doing a very good job down there." The DOCTOR said he was glad to hear that. They agree to meet tonight in CORCORAN's office at 5:30 P.M. 4:20 PM SOPHIE to PEGGY stating that VINSON has been announced as Secretary of the Treasury. PEGGY and TOM will go to the Carlton tonight to a party with BEN COHEN. 5:20 PM MR. RAY JONES, Foreign Funds Control of the Treasury, to MR. YOUNGMAN stating that MR. RICHARDS had called him re the applications and he feels the Treasury can get them through at once. He will contact NASON on the outcome. 5:30 PM MRS. BEHAN to Room 223 at Grafton Hotel (EX 4500) for MAJOR HOSKINS telling him that MR. YOUNGMAN just left and wants the MAJOR to meet him outside the hotel. OK. 5:38 PM DR. RAJCHMAN to DAVE CORCORAN, telling him he was in a meeting when DAVE contacted him earlier but that he will come to the office at once to see DAVE and TOM CORCORAN. OK. 6:00 PM GIRL to MR. DEAN ACHESON's office at State Department, Extension 2101, asked for DR. RAJCHMAN who hadn't arrived at CORCORAN's office yet. She left word for DR. RAJCHMAN to call ACHESON. 6:05 PM DR. RAJCHMAN to MR. DEAN ACHESON at State Department, Extension 2101. RAJCHMAN asked when he could see ACHESON. RAJCHMAN wants a passport, exit permit, and re-entry permit to go to Poland to consult the government on UNRRA work. ACHESON told him to come over and he would turn him over to GENERAL HOLMES' (JULIUS HOLMES, Assistant Secretary, State Department) office. RAJCHMAN will come over at 11:00 A.M. tomorrow. 6:10 PM ERNIE CUNEO from New York City to CORCORAN. CORCORAN asked if ERNIE saw VINSON's name announced. ERNIE asked if CORCORAN thought that would mean that RANDOLPH (PAUL ? Law Firm, Lord Day and Lord, New York City) will go back as Under-Secretary. CORCORAN said he didn't know; that he saw RANDOLPH the other day, and that CORCORAN is working with RANDOLPH on something.
