10:15 AM
CORCORAN to WORTH CLARK at his home.
T - Three o'clock here with BENNETT (CLARK?)
W - Oh, you talked to him, huh?
T - Yeah. He won't show up, but that's the deal. I wanted to see him
this morning but he said he had to go to the "Hill". That's to
make JACK NICHOLS (phonetic) unhappy. But--
W -(He laughs) There's no question about that.
T - Three o'clock here.
W - All right.
10:16 AM
CORCORAN to EDWARD F. PRICHARD in Judge FRED VINSON's office asking if
he can buy PRICHARD's lunch this noon. Accepted. They will meet at
1:00 P.M. at the Carlton.
10:18 AM
MISS DE FALCO to the Carlton reserving a table for CORCORAN for two for
lunch.
10:20 AM
CORCORAN to GEORGE McNULTY (from St. Louis) at Mayflower Hotel, Room 909.
McNULTY said, "I didn't call you last night because LEO CROWLEY said that
he knew nothing of any such program but that he'd find out.' CORCORAN
said that LEO is up on the "Hill" fighting that export-import bank fight.
He told McNULTY that "things take time around here." CORCORAN suggested
that McNULTY go over to the Veterans Administration and make an appointment
to see the Medical Officer. McNULTY said he thought he would go over and
see JACK COCHRANE (Congressman JOHN J. COCHRAN of St. Louis ?) first, and
CORCORAN said he thought COCHRAN could help. McNULTY is leaving today
but will be back next week and CORCORAN said he would follow up with LEO
for McNULTY.
10:32 AM
MR. SHER (Attorney from firm of SHER and OPPENHEIMER) to CORCORAN. The
following is their conversation:
S - Good morning.
C - Hello. Did you have any trouble with those filings?
S - Well, I got 'em ready now. (ARNOLD) KIEHN's coming in to sign 'em
today.
C - I think in the meanwhile you ought to get--although you use your
judgment about filing--the one on yourself for the fifteen. That is,
get him to sign it. Don't you put it in yet. I mean use your own
judgment as to whether to put it in yet.
S - But you think he ought to sign it?
C - I think so--I think he's quite willing to.
S - You haven't talked with him about it?
C - At first I said no. He suggested it.
S - Oh, I see.
C - Then I said no. Maybe we better let it go.
S - I have a feeling we should. About getting him to sign it--that's the
C - Never mind getting him to sign it. Let it go. We're all right. We
got other things signed.
S - Yeah. All right, that's right.
C - All right. But get 'em in. I want to know what happens.
S - I'm going to be away tomorrow and the rest of the week--gonna be up
in New York.
