Washington, D. C. CO SUMMARY September 27, 1945 10:30 AM TOM CORCORAN asked BOB SHER if he thought DEMPSEY expects a piece of the WARNER fee. SHER said DEMPSEY got $2,500 before and CORCORAN said he thought he got about $5,000 altogether. KIEHN is coming in to pay SHER the fee today. They talked about whether the WARNER payment of $28,000 was having to go through the General Accounting Office. CORCORAN said that ICKES had said it didn't have to. SHER said that KEN MARK (phonetic) had argued with him that it would have to be certified by the General Accounting Office. 11:10 AM D. WORTH CLARK to TOM CORCORAN, who said that HINCKLEY is coming over at 11:30 and that WORTH had better be here. TOM asked if WORTH dropped that "Inter-Mountain thing" on his desk. WORTH said he thought that was GLASSMAN's station. CORCORAN asked WORTH to come over at once. WORTH asked TOM about getting ULLUM's brother out of the Army. TOM said he forgot about it. 11:45 AM MISS DE FALCO to MR. E. BARRETT PRETTYMAN, saying that CORCORAN wants the names of the men on that Committee he and CORCORAN talked about. They are: COLONEL WALTER CLEPHANE MR. EDMUND L. JONES MR. ED STAFFORD MR. AUSTIN CANFIELD MR. JOHN LEWIS SMITH MR. VERNON WEST MR. JOHN LASKEY (ill in hospital) MR. WALTER BASTIAN MR. FRANCIS W. HILL, JR. 12:17 PM TOM CORCORAN to LEO CROWLEY. The following conversation took place: LC - Hello TC - JIMMY's (BYRNES) return has been postponed until Monday. LC - Well, he accepted my resignation this morning as of October the 15th. TC - He did? LC - Yeah. TC - Did he talk with you about it? LC - No, but he released my letter. TC - Oh Lord! LC - Ah--I'11 see you over here. What time do you go to lunch? TC - I'm going any time. I'll see you any time you want me to. I was gonna' lunch about quarter past one. Want me to see you now? LC - Well, I'll go over to the hotel and see you there. TC - All right, I'll be over there at what--quarter of one? LC - Yeah. TC - All right.
