Washington, D. C. PR SUMMARY September 16, 1945 10:40 AM PRICHARD to LYNDON JOHNSON. PRICHARD told JOHNSON he called last night but could not reach him. JOHNSON said he went to the Attorney General's office yesterday and tried to catch him without success. JOHNSON invited PRICHARD to breakfast with him this morning. O.K., PRICHARD will be there at 10:30 AM. 6:15 PM FELIX FRANKFURTER to ED PRICHARD. PRICHARD advised that BENTON's appointment (State Department) had been made on the recommendation of BEN COHEN. Both agree that it was a bad appointment, and that it would have been better to have left MacLEISH in. FRANKFURTER mentioned that ELLIOTT JANEWAY was born ELI JACOBSTEIN. FRANKFURTER is glad that PRICHARD has made the decision that he has.
