TOM CORCORAN to JOE PANUCH (continued).
TC - Just have him keep his nose clean. That's all I ask (chuckles).
JP - Listen, I want to sit down with you and talk to you about the deal
of my own. I'm gonna see DOUGLAS on it tomorrow.
TC - Has BOB done any more talking to you?
JP - No, but this is a different setup -- a little bit different.
DOUGLAS is talking about something else. You see, I was out to
the party of JIMMY COUNSELMAN'S (phonetic) last night with BILL
there and VAN and all those guys and he popped something there
which I'm gonna talk to him about tomorrow. He seemed fairly
curious about it and I want to lay you in on the picture.
TC - All right, I'll be free in an hour.
JP - Now look - that will be half past twelve.
TC - All right. I'll see you.

GEORGE FOULKES (National 3891) told DeFALCO that he's expecting an Army
captain from Dakota, very well-to-do, who may come in. If he comes,
she is to send him over to SHAUGHNESSY's new office. GEORGE then spoke
to MAC WRIGHT about a new building that will be available. The following
conversation then took place:
GF - There's a fellow comin' down here a captain in the Army -- from
Dakota - a very well-to-do fellow. He's been in for three years.
He's a physician. He wants me to try and get him out. Now, I
suppose a fellow shouldn't hit a guy up for a fee on a thing like
that should he?
MW - Gee, I don't know.
GF - He's got a lot of dough. I know 5,000 if I were to mention
it --- Christ, it wouldn't mean a thing to him. Further, I think
he's got an excellent case for getting out. I thought I'd mention
that to you, MAC.
MW - I don't know. Let me find out. TOM (CORCORAN) has done that same
thing, you know, several times.
GF - For a fee?
MW - Well, that's what I don't know.
GF - Well, that's what I'm a little afraid of.
MW - I'm afraid not, but I don't know.
GF - He's gonna be down here in three days. Now, I don't want to do it
for him unless there's something in it, see.
MW - I'll find out (indistinct) day.
GF - He's not a guy that'll take everything and give nothing but he's
got lots of dough.
MW - Let me find out today how TOM does it.
GF - Just keep it confidential. What I'm primarily concerned with is,
of course, whether we want to do it and take a fee for it. If we
don't want the fee, MAC, the hell with him. I'll shunt him around.
OK, MAC.
MW - All right.
GF - Fine, boy.
12:26 PM Mr. BOB HINCKLEY to TOM CORCORAN. BOB said the Commission "has given
us another thirty days extension. He said he was going to NYC today
