I told him he could not get anything that way. I do\nnot want GEORGE to get the idea that he can talk to VAUGHAN and get a\nfavor which we have been working on for six months.\" TOM said, \"What is\nyour own situation?\" JOE says it is developing all right and he is going\n\"over there\".\n11:10 AM\nMrs. BEHAN to Miss LIBEL in Ben COHEN's office asking where PRICHARD is.\nShe says he is staying with JOE ALSOP. BEHAN said she will try to find\nALSOP's address through Chinese Defense Supply.\n11:31 AM\nGAEL SULLIVAN to TOM CORCORAN. SULLIVAN says he made contact with the\nWhite House but the party to whom he wanted to talk had gone to New\nYork. SULLIVAN however is going to have lunch with that party today and\nsays, \"I may have that information for you definite by tonight.\" TOM\nsaid that ED FOLEY is with him now, asked if SULLIVAN is having lunch\nwith BOB (HANNEGAN?) today. Yes. SULLIVAN says, \"He (HANNEGAN) wants\nto talk wit me about something else and, it will be a good opportunity\nfor me to get this in.\" TOM said he wants to move right in on it and\nSULLIVAN assured him there would be no trouble about it because when he\nlast dropped it to BOB he was receptive. (re ED FOLEY for President of\nExport-Import Bank) FOLEY then said, \"SULLIVAN, I kicked in about $2500\nin the last campaign. I do not know whether he knows that or not.\"\nSULLIVAN said, \"Well, he better know it,\" and FOLEY said, \"You would be\nthe one to say it. I did not give it all in the same place. I also gave\nto him but I gave the Senate $500 and I spent it around. But it added\nup to $2500.\" TOM asked SULLIVAN if he is trying to reach MATT (CONNELLY)\nat the White House and SULLIVAN said yes. SULLIVAN said he would keep\nFOLEY posted. CORCORAN said (as aside) \"Wait until I get Kentucky.\"\n(for Prichard?)\n12:55 PM\nED FOLEY to Miss DeFALCO asking if ED PRICHARD was still seeing CORCORAN.\nAnswer: yes. ED FOLEY asks that DeFALCO call him at EM 7726 as soon as\nPRICHARD leaves because he (ED) does not want to talk to CORCORAN while\nPRICHARD is there. Agreed.\n1:15 PM\nTOM CORCORAN to ED FOLEY. TOM said, \"He (PRICHARD?) recommended you\noriginally for President (Export-Import Bank), according to what he said.\nHe also said that the Democratic recommendation was GASTON for a director-\nship just to get rid of him.\" ED says, \"That checks with HARRY WHITE.\"\nTOM says, \"And then he recommended SUMNER PIKE and BART CRUMM as Republican\nmembers. Now he is seeing this fellow this afternoon. He is going over\nto see him right now and he is going to check--and sell you for the\ndirectorship as well as for the presidency.\" ED says, \"The PIKE recom-\nmendation was good. You can reach me at Middleburh 60 over the week end.\"\n1:18 PM\nSUMNER PIKE to TOM CORCORAN who says, \"I want to talk 'oil' with you\ntomorrow at noon. Agreed."
