I have been fighting in Washington to dispel this cloud.
The Republicans seem to like the cloudy weather.
I sometimes wonder if they aren't waiting for it to rain
depression again just like it did back in Nineteen Twenty-nine.
Look at what's happened to you here who are dependent
on tobacco.
Butter and meat and clothing and everything has gone up
so much in price that people have had to cut down on some things
and tobacco was one of them.
I know how thankful you are that the Democrats
have conceived and developed the price support program
which is now keeping you from detouring down the road to ruinously
low tobacco prices.
