11:07 a.m. 10-1-48 WINCHESTER, KENTUCKY MARIA NATIONAL ARCHIVES AND RECORDS : SERVICE" GOVERNWEA chap I'm delighted to be here in Winchester, I wish I could stay longer. I always like to visit the home state of Senator Barkley, and I always hate to leave. Judging from the crowd here today, Winchester is pretty prosperous this year. In this campaign, Senator Barkley and I are fighting to keep Kentucky and the whole country prosperous. We'hl all be in danger of losing our prosperity if we let the Republicans get back in power. The Republican leaders haven't learned much since Nineteen thirty-two - except to try to fool you by saying they can carry out Democratic policies better than the Democrats.
