- 5 - In Nineteen thirty-two only two and one-half million workers were members of unions. Today over sixteen million are TRUMAS organized. ARCHIVES "NATIONAL SERVICE" RECORDS AND ENTER Under Democratic administrations and with Democratic majorities in Congress, the American worker has marched forward towards a better, richer life. But in the last two years, since the Republicans took over the Congress, labor has lost many of its gains. You people will determine on election day what kind of government you will have for the next four years. In November nineteen forty-six two-thirds of you stayed away from the polls and as a result you got this labor-hating, labor-baiting Republican 80th Congress.
