I don't believe the American people want
to turn their backs on the prosperity gained under Democratic
administrations.
Over in Ottawa, I talked to the people about
the progress Ohio farmers have made since the bad days
of the Republican depression.
I reminded them that the income of Ohio farmers
has gone up to more than a BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.
At the height of the so-called "boom" in
Nineteen Twenty-nine, when the Republicans were bragging
about the prosperity ot the nation, the income of Ohio farmers
was around Three Hundred and Seventy-seven Million Dollars -
only about one-third of their income this year.
