Visibility unrestricted with battle area temperature between 28-54 degrees F. Forecast: Clear north of 39th parallel and broken middle clouds in southern Korea. Temperatures in battle area will range from 26-48 degrees F. (FEAF)(SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Enemy activity continued on a limited scale with a slight increase noted in the Seoul area. Energy rear guard units in the IX and X Corps sectors generally consisted of company size groups. Air reported the Chunchon area appeared deserted on 20 March. The enemy is resorting to increased use of booby-traps in recently vacated areas. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: GROUND a. General: IX Corps units advanced up to 4 miles against moderate to no resistance. Remainder of the Eighth Army adjusted posi- tions against scattered opposition. Friendly patrols ranged up to 5 miles southwest of Chunchon without contact. (FECOM)(SECRET) b. I U.S. Corps: 1st ROK Division units maintained positions and repulsed a light energy attack 3 miles north of Seoul. Patrols ranged 7 to 9 miles northwest of the city before establishing enemy contact. 3d U.S. Infantry Division: A 65th U.S. Infantry Regiment tank-infantry patr ol was repelled by an estimated enemy battalion 4 miles north-northeast of Seoul. The 7th U.S. Infantry Regiment relieved the 24th U.S. Infantry Regiment of the 25th Division. 7th Infantry is now on a 5 mile front north of the Seoul-Kuam highway from 10 to 15 miles northeast of Seoul. 15th U.S. Infantry Regiment, with the Belgian Battalion attached, adjusted posi- tions on the south bank of the Han River, south of Seoul. The 10th Philip- pine Battalion is on the right flank of the 15th Infantry. 25th U.S Infantry Division: The 27th U.S. Infantry Regiment and the Turkish Brigade ad- vanced unopposed to an area 5 miles northwest of Kuam.
