Weather: Scattered high and middle clouds over all Korea becoming broken to overcast high and middle clouds. Visibility 6 to 10 miles lowering to 1 to 3 miles in showers. Temperatures 60 to 75 degrees. Forecast: Scattered to broken high, middle, and low clouds. Visibility 3 to 8 miles lowering to 1 to 3 in showers. Temperatures 60 to 90 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: Resistance continued stubborn north and northeast of Inje, but was light in other sectors. Preliminary reports indicate the enemy has abandoned considerable quantities of supplies and materiel in his current withdrawal: 200 rounds 81 and 82 mm mortar ammunition discovered 4-1/2 miles north northwest of Yonchon; 1800 lbs. TNT, 750 AT mines, 260 rounds 120 mm mortar ammunition, 12 to 15 truck loads of 105, 120 mm artillery and 60 mm mortar ammunition and hand grenades, a medical dump including a complete hospital -- all captured south of Chorwon; 4000 rounds mortar ammunition (caliber not reported), 150 rounds 105 mm ar- tillery ammunition destroyed 4-1/2 miles northwest of Kumhwa. Consid- erable enemy activity was observed south of the Ichon - Changdo line. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: GROUND: a. General: Friendly tank - infantry patrols probed to points 6 miles southwest and southeast of Pyonggang, north of Chorwon and Kumhwa. Other UN forces patrolled up to 3 miles ahead of front lines, and US Marine and ROK units repulsed counterattacks north of Inje in the eastern sector. (FECOM) (SECRET)
