1. Weather:
Broken to overcast high clouds, scattered middle clouds increas-
ing during the morning to broken clouds with occasional rain. Visibility
8 to 10 miles. Temperatures 62 to 82 degrees F. Forecast: Overcast
high clouds, broken middle clouds, and scattered low clouds. Visibility
6 to 8 miles. Temperatures 64 to 84 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
The enemy fought stubbornly in the Kumhwa area, hurling 3 attacks
at friendly positions there and one other farther east, near Sohwa. Along
the I and IX Corps fronts, 43 tank traps were sighted. The greatest num-
ber of these, together with other defensive installations, was in the vicin-
ity of Kumsong. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: Friendly task forces probed 7 miles north of
Chorwon in the I Corps sector and to within 5 miles of Kosong on the east
coast. On the west flank, British units attacked across the Imjin River
and advanced 4 miles. (FECOM) (SECRET)
